Breaking News

What a kick start of day you can imagine… server down, crabby client calling and best of all … broadband broke down. I felt like cut off from world. What next …sadly I had to switch off my cell and guess what… my TV remote got lucky as it was in my hand.

You guyz ever thought of this, with how much dedication or correct me if I’m wrong if I say ‘seriousness’ (referred to all those people are fan of Keketa Kapur Killer Kerials) we really watch some programs on TV rather surfing all channels??

I never liked wasting my time in front of that stupid box (paradoxically in my bedroom) but for a change I thought of killing my good time. On that note I enjoy watching HBO, Star Movies, NDTV Profit, Discovery, Channel V and some awesome comedies on Star One. As doing the crime of watching TV I had to give a pause to my continues push on remote button with some breaking news (does that mean Masaledar Khabar!!) “19 yr old girl raped in Temple by priest in Dwarka, Delhi” shhh!! Gandhi died again in Dwarka . Another channel flashed the news “Breaking News: Bengal Tiger (Ganguly) declared fit for match” followed by opinion poll, discussions, public reactions and another full day crap on cricket. I wanted to ask all those person who opted to be part of online poll, discussions … what they think and have done to raise their voice in favor of stiff law for crime against women in India. Or they can only enjoy cricket match and clap like ______ (no felony) in front of their TV set. As

I move on my surfing I saw this news clip of Vikram Seth book launch in Mumbai Taj and I smiled… spectators holding book, bookmark, invitation will never know me but inside I feel some satisfaction as my work reached in so many hands around India … cheers Vikram Seth.

By evening I got the chance to get small nap (obviously credit goes to all breaking news on every channel which satirically never stop.) I woke up around 6 in evening, walked out of house to buy some samosa from sweet shop… yes its Tea Time (that reminds me driving down 10 kms to MG road, just to eat samosa that too 10rs each, Bangalore - 2000).

I put on my notebook and I all of sudden I dedicated nice poem (its so much nice that I can’t even flash it here.. ) to my DSL service provider . Sad part … I got my TV remote again.

Back to TV … my cable guy put on new movie for viewers ‘Salam Namaste’ print was so bad (coz of pirated CD) I just thought to skip that channel but that give me thought of Saif Ali Khan aka Chhote Nawab …we can see him in two mood all the time …either he is smiling or he is not smiling.

After dinner I started surfing channel again …

Jassi Jaise Koi Nahi : Sony TV (Jassi might have got attractive looks but this serial lost all attractions)
K*^ @#!! : (K) Star Plus (Some K type serial, you can’t even remember how many marriages main lead actress do or how easly some lead role lost his memory or goes into coma .. I wish I could ban them all.)
Bikini Girls: AXN (New gen kids love this channel … where AcXtioN is nil and clothes are less.)
Your Money: NDTV Profit (Very impressive channel…worth watching)
Fast & Furious: HBO (Can’t be more fast than Delhi traffic and furious like autowalas and DTC buses)
Great Indian Comedy Show: Star One (total PJs, showcase all flop VJ on single platform)
Telephone lines are open and free across LOC: NDTV India (Shekar Kapur has said much on this before… all I can say is we Indians appreciate any move, which benefits people on both the side).

Breaking News : Govinda in Dawood party :India TV I was socked to see the real news from Rajat Sharma’s TV venture; they flashed the unedited video in which we saw Dawood with all his gang member along with our very own Bollywood star, now Member of Parliament, ‘Govinda aka Chihi’. As it was live I called up my friend in India TV .I wanted to praise on their good job but he was on live set. After the show, he called me up and I gave him all my good wishes for their good work. When he asked about my opinion on this incident not as friend but as Indian citizen and viewer of his channel I felt silence within me…finally I said “Well my friend, I don’t know how should I react but all I can say is it might be like Govinda must be in some terror of gang or it might be that he belong to group of people who make friendship with criminals or big politicians just to influence others in society, at work or in their profession. Now what is real truth… only Govinda can tell? In my meek opinion he should resign as MP keeping in mind that he is still favorite star for may Indians and should tell the government all the truth. Let the judicial body decide what next… May god bless him.” God bless you brave reporters of India TV.

It was mix kind of felling after spending my day in from of TV and at the end of the day I decided to read some good books rather watching TV … the best thing of TV remote is “Power Off Switch” let it be off then.

Jai Govinda.
